Taylor Sparklingeyes, BA

Senior Data Sovereignty Specialist

Taylor identifies herself as an Indigenous-Cree woman from Treaty 6 territory.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a Business minor from Concordia University College of Edmonton. She is working towards becoming a certified Project Manager through an accreditation program from continuing education offered by First Nations University of Canada.

Taylor brings many years of front-line experience working with supporting and empowering youth on all paths of their lives. With experience leading and conducting community-based research projects, she understands the power held in stories, and knowledge gathering that can initiate positive changes. She has recently focused her career on capacity building for Indigenous Nations and communities to better understand the complexities and possibilities around Indigenous Data Sovereignty and Governance.

Taylor strongly believes that research involving Indigenous Peoples should be conducted, interpreted, and shared from an Indigenous lens to ensure potential benefits are accessible for the community. She hopes her passion for working with Indigenous Peoples and communities will leave a positive impact on the world for her children and the next seven generations to come.
