Randy Pitawanakwat, BA

Junior Environmental Consultant

Randy is driven by the vision of providing a sustainable and inclusive future for the next seven generations across Turtle Island (Canada). She has always felt a dedication to ensuring Indigenous voices are heard and that Indigenous Knowledge is acknowledged and weaved in all areas of her work.

Randy has a diverse background in project coordination, consulting, and advisory services. Through her work she’s had the valuable experiences of advancing reconciliation, increasing Indigenous inclusivity, supporting community engagement efforts, and developing and delivering cultural awareness initiatives. Her experience extends across various sectors, working on projects in forestry, ocean, mining, and green energy. While her experiences play a key role in her passion, her lived experience has been influential. She understands the connections and ties that is shared with the land we all call home.

Randy completed her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Trent University in 2022. She specialized in Criminology and Socio-Legal along with a minor in Indigenous Studies. Her educational journey was an opportunity for her to dive into the topics she was passionate about, advancing her knowledge about Indigenous rights and communal connections as well as policy and practices impact the livelihood of Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.

In her free time, Randy continues her Anishinaabemowin learning journey. You can also find her making art, gaming, enjoying sunny days, or lounging with her two cats
