Brooke Moore, BSc

Lands Manager

Brooke is a Lands and Project Manager at SVS where she passionately invests herself into work that advances Indigenous Rights and inclusion. Born and raised in Membertou First Nation, Unama’ki (Cape Breton Island), Brooke now makes her home in Kjipuktuk (Halifax, NS). Her educational background includes a BSc in Biology from Dalhousie University and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Ocean Technology from Nova Scotia Community College. She is also an accredited Associate in Project Management.

At SVS, Brooke manages projects focused on land and economic development that not only support but actively elevate Indigenous communities. She is deeply committed to building and transforming environments that prioritize transparency, participation, and community benefit, always incorporating Indigenous perspectives into decision-making processes related to environmental and economic development.

Brooke is an advocate for the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada (TRC) calls to action, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and supports the initiatives for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, 2 Spirit, Men, and Boys (MMWIG2S+). Her leadership style reflects deep respect for diverse Indigenous cultures and a dedication to enhancing Indigenous Rights and sovereignty.

A devoted supporter of youth empowerment, Brooke emphasizes the importance of recognizing Indigenous youth as pivotal leaders. She advocates for their involvement in decision-making, ensuring they are respected and adequately compensated for their contributions.

Outside the office, Brooke finds peace and inspiration in the landscapes of Mi’kma’ki. She enjoys spending quality time with her partner and dogs, reading, crafting, and relaxing by water or in her own backyard.
