Michelle Correa Ferrufino, M.BEMA
Lands Coordinator
Michelle Correa Ferrufino has a background in research, policy, and consultation in the fields of ecology and government. Michelle completed a master’s in bioenvironmental monitoring and assessment at Trent University where she learned about environmental monitoring, communications, stakeholder relations, and environmental policy. Prior to joining SVS, Michelle worked as a research and development specialist at Hortico Nurseries where she created technical reports pertaining to designing and analyzing crop resilience in sustainable agriculture communities within Southern Ontario. In 2020, Michelle served as a policy assistant for the Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation, and Trade, where she consulted with small business stakeholders to aid in the development of various policies such as the Better for People, Smarter for Business Act of 2020 and regulations related to small and medium businesses within Ontario.
Michelle is passionate about prioritizing lands-related community engagement while simultaneously benefitting the environment. Michelle lives in Hamilton, Ontario and enjoys hikes, camping, martial arts, and volunteering in her local community.
