Lisa Uskov, T.Dip. Forest Technician
Senior Biologist, Wildlife and Terrestrial Ecosystems
With nearly two decades of experience in ecology, forestry, and wildlife and resource management, Lisa has cultivated a broad understanding of terrestrial ecosystems and wildlife and the ways that human activities and climate change impact them. She has worked extensively in the mining, aggregates, renewable energy, transportation, oil and gas, forestry, and community development sectors. Her skills and services include project management, business development and strategy, submission and maintenance of environmental permits and authorizations, design and coordination of field studies, geospatial data management, ecological impact assessment and mitigation planning, ecological monitoring design, technical standards development, and report authoring. She has expertise in interpreting and implementing environmental policy such as the Endangered Species Act, Species at Risk Act, Migratory Birds Convention Act, Aggregate Resources Act, Mining Act, Impact Assessment Act, and Planning Act.
Lisa’s deep connection and respect for nature has been a lifelong pillar of her passion, motivation, and identity. She has a firm belief in humankind’s responsibility as stewards of the land. Lisa enjoys creative problem solving and building collaborative solutions to help people realize their visions in ways that promote sustainability, enhance biodiversity, and restore natural habitats. She holds a technical diploma as a Forest Technician and is currently completing a B.Sc. in Environmental Practice with Royal Roads University.
In her downtime, Lisa enjoys spending time outdoors, video games, board games, and Dungeons and Dragons. She loves boondocking in her camper van with her family, which includes her two dogs, cat, and three birds!
