Meaghan Langille, B.Sc.

Meaghan Langille is a consultant with Shared Value Solutions focusing on social research, communications, and environmental regulatory processes. She has background experience in community engagement, climate action planning for large institutions, communications, policy research, facilitation, and greenhouse gas (GHG) inventorying.

Meaghan’s experience with SVS includes social research and data management for traditional knowledge (TK), oral history, land use and occupancy (LUO) studies, & environmental technical reviews with First Nation and Métis communities in Ontario, New Brunswick, and Manitoba. Most recently, Meaghan has been working with a collective of First Nations and Métis communities across Ontario and New Brunswick on navigating the National Energy Board regulatory process for TransCanada’s proposed Energy East pipeline.

Prior to joining SVS, Meaghan worked with civil society organizations on international development and mining policy and advocacy campaigns. Part of her role involved building collaborative, non-partisan partnerships with elected officials in the federal government and providing training and capacity building to youth volunteers across Canada. Meaghan has been involved in efforts that have lead to major policy shifts including Canada signing onto the International Aid Transparency Initiative, enacting the Extractives Sector Transparency Measures Act, and the formation of Canada’s Development Finance Initiative.

Meaghan has a passion for evaluation and organizational learning that better equips people and organizations with tackling society’s most pressing challenges. This passion led her to author numerous articles in Engineers Without Borders Canada’s Annual Failure Report, a globally renowned annual publication that has promoted the idea of failing forward and learning from failure as a way to build resilience and innovation in organizations. She holds a B.Sc. in Life Sciences specializing in policy and the bio-physical environment from McMaster University, a postgraduate certificate in Environmental Management and Assessment from Niagara College, and has been trained as a Climate Reality Leader by former U.S vice-president Al Gore.
