Jessica Steiner, M.A.

Jessica Steiner is a human-environment consultant with Shared Value Solutions.

Working with Indigenous communities across northern Canada, Jessica’s research centers on project-specific land use and occupancy mapping and traditional use studies.  Her work focuses on Indigenous knowledge and land use in relation to a number of different energy sectors from pipelines to mining to wind farms.

Jessica holds a Master’s Degree in Public Issues Anthropology.  She conducted her MA research on Haida Gwaii, British Columbia where she examined specific strategies employed by the Haida Nation to regain control over decision-making and management of natural resources on the Island. Her research also incorporated concepts related to co-management and joint land use planning.

Jessica is passionate about Indigenous rights and the ability for communities to have continued cultural connections to healthy and productive lands and resources.


Qualitative research methods, human-environment relations, project logistics and coordination, community-based interviews and focus groups, community engagement, capacity development, information management, data analysis, and report writing.
