Alison Fraser, M.Sc.

Alison Fraser has been working as an environmental consultant and risk assessment specialist for fourteen years. She has a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph and an M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Trent University.

Through her work as an environmental consultant, Alison has developed a strong background in environmental toxicology, environmental risk assessments, impact assessments, and environmental site assessments.  She has extensive experience in conducting and reviewing human health and ecological risk assessments for residential, parkland, industrial and commercial sites, using guidance and regulations from provincial and federal jurisdictions. She has conducted third party peer reviews of environmental impact assessments on behalf of clients including First Nations communities and government. She has also completed risk assessments for Northern communities, taking into consideration Aboriginal land uses.

Alison has participated in working groups, related to human health risk assessment and toxicology, with the Ontario Ministry of the Environment and Climate Change (MOECC). She is also an active member of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), chairing and participating in committees on both a national and regional level. In 2013, she received the Presidential Citation for Exemplary Service from SETAC North America.

In addition to her work as an environmental toxicologist, Alison also founded the Canadian Not-for-Profit Organization, Mom2Mom Africa, and continues to serve as Director. Alison visits Tanzania on a regular basis to oversee projects such as school builds, as well as the installation of wells and water filtration systems.
